The vibrant colors of fall are now gone and it is now quite wintery on my most frequented trail…at least it was two weeks ago.
Since these photos were taken, the rains have returned washing away most of the snow you see. This saddens me as I love hiking in the snow! But, you live in Alaska…isn’t there always snow in the winter? Not necessarily here in Cordova as we are surrounded by a temperate rain forrest. We could have lots of snow throughout the winter. We could have lots of rain. Or, it could go back and forth between the two.
They are saying that we will have a warmer winter like last year. This translates to less snow and more rain. I’m praying they are wrong!
